Athlete and Coach Health Screening: The pre-screen health check will be sent to registrants on Friday, 2/19, through AdminSkiRacing and must be completed prior to the event. Additionally, a day of race health screening must be completed. Athletes and coaches can complete the daily health screening specific to each club, This can be Team Snap, a custom resort health screening or club specific platform. If you have any questions please contact [email protected]. A team captain from each club must email a file of completed health checks taken for the day of the event to [email protected] before 7:30 am on 2.21.21. Failure to screen the morning of the race will result in the athlete not being allowed to race.
Registration/Race Bibs/Tickets: One team captain will pick up tickets in the Race Room located on the right side of the brick walk near the parking lot at KB Central. The Race Room will be open for walk through pick up starting at 7:30am.
Pre-sale Spectator Lift Tickets: If you purchased a pre-sale spectator lift ticket from KBSKI.COM/Liftopia you may pick these up at the outside Ticket Center Window. KB is pass holders only 8am to 10am on weekends so your ticket will be valid starting at 10am. The athletes and coaches may load at 8am.
Spectators, We ask that all spectators view the race from the deck / firepit area at the base or from behind the split rail fence running in front of the lodge. Either area will give you full view of the course. You may use the lodge facilities under the guidleines and policies that are detailed in the Kissing Bridge Covid program that is available at kbski.com for your review. Food service is open under NYS Covid Guidelines. Distancing and masking will be mandatory inside and out and will be enforced. There is no gear storage inside KB facilities so boot up at your car and keep any bags there as well.
Speed Suits. At this time the weather looks mild and speed suits, while not mandatory, will be permitted.
Racers have bibs for the seasson, please remember to bring your athletes race bib.
Race Day Schedule(Tentative)-
7:00am Jury assembles for transportation to race start to inspect the venue and course.
8:00am Holly Quad open, athletes load for inspection by club. Clubs will depart for inspection in 5 min intervals. Order of inspections. 8:15 HV followed by HM, BSC and KB. There should be time for two inspection runs.
8:45:Venue closed for inspection and freeski
9:00 am Forerunners
9:15 am First Heat underway
The first heat will run random order within age group and gender as follows:
u12 Girls
U10 Girls
U8 Girls
U12 Boys
U10 Boys
U 8 Boys
The second Heat will be run as determine by seeding of the first heat. The seeding will put racers together by combied time of the first two runs with the fastest two skiers in gender racing at the end of the order. In the case of an odd number the first racer by seed (slowest time) will run solo. The heats will not be seprated by age classification, just gender by combined times.
The final heat will be run the same with seeding based on the 2 previous heats. In the event of a DSQ or DNF the non scored racer will be given a 2 second penalty based off the time of his/her competitor. In the case that both racers fail to get a time the time will be based on the slower result of the next two racers in the seeding. No racer will be disqualified from taking all 6 runs based on a dsq or dnf failure to gain a recorded time. Reruns will be given in the case of clear interference as decided uopn by the jury.
There will be a 40m break between heats for reseeding and redress of the course. During this time skills environments will be open for teams. Skills will be located on the Holly Slope. Athletes should be with a coach for skills participation.
Race results will be shown two ways.
Results posted to NYSSRA will be based on the first two runs, one in each course, combined times.
Results for NFSC scoring and event medals will be based on 6 run combined times seperated by Gender and age groups. U8,10 and 12 will be awarded as per NFSC policy.
No Awards Presented at Race. No Scoreboard. Times may be announced (TBD) Results will be posted to NYSSRA ASAP and will be available on livetiming during or shortly after the conclusion of the event.
