U14 Spring Project - Palisades Tahoe

Project: Western Region U14 Terrain and Flight School

Dates: Arrival - April 16th 

On Snow April 17th to 20th 

Depart after skiing on the 20th

Project Overview: The purpose of this project is to align a contact point within the Western Region that assists our U14 athletes, progressing through their divisional competitions. by working collectively together in a training environment with athletes in their peer group.

Project Leader’s and Staff: Jeff Pickering USSS, Western Region Development Coach; Jim Hudson, Palisades Tahoe Head U14 Coach; and club coaches from the region. Also, USST Alumni will make appearances to share their experiences with this up and coming group of U14 athletes.

What to expect: An environment that brings WR U14 athletes and coaches together for the first time this season on a world-class venue with focus on speed elements. Project goals are to refine and improve tactical & technical aspects and gain personal confidence. Training environments are designed to be a progression in GS, SG and Speed elements. 

What to bring: GS & SG equipment (including a back protector) , necessary tuning equipment, water bottle, all weather clothing, small notepad, athletic attire, homework.

Selection Method: Upon competition of each division’s final qualifier Divisional Managers will notify Program Directors & Coaches of their divisions selection. It is the responsibility of each division to assign attending staff. Selection method is per each division's respective policies. 

Divisional Managers, please submit a list of athlete names from your division to Ali Holum no later than April 10th, 2025.

Project Fee: $315.00

Please pay the project fee on AdminSkiRacing.  Search Far West Division for the project.

Includes: Venue build & maintenance and regional staff expenses.
Excludes: Lift tickets, travel, lodging, meals and Divisional fees.

Palisades Lift Passes: Ikon Pass are honored. Athletes without an Ikon Pass can purchase Palisades lift tickets at the $26/day high school ticket price.  Important: purchase tickets online by April 15th.  The tickets can be used April 16th through April 20th.  Use this link to purchase athlete tickets. Village Lodging at Palisades Tahoe: Project lodging is available at the Village at the base of the lifts.  Athletes and coaches have the option to lodge at Palisades or use other hotels in Truckee.

 Note to Parents, Athletes and attending Coaches: ALL ATHLETES MUST BE REPRESENTED BY THEIR RESPECTIVE CLUB COACH OR HAVE MADE ARRANGEMENTS FOR INDIVIDUAL ATHLETES TO JOIN TEAMS THAT ARE ATTENDING. NO EXCEPTIONS. An overarching theme and project goal will be focused on team building and getting to know each other as a Region, this is how we will continue to work and progress successfully now and in the future.

This project is a day camp model: All lodging and transportation will be with parents or clubs that have pre-arranged plans. Communication will be critical. Important: We will be training at the highest point of the mountain. Athletes will be bringing GS and SG skis daily. Plan on preparing your own lunch, on-hill snacks and water for the hill. We will not be returning to the base area for lunch.
