U12 NYSSRA Athletes

This project is only open to all U12 athletes.

Camp Objective: To gain early on-snow mileage through directed free skiing and fundamental skiing drills. Emphasis will be placed on team building, education, and camaraderie. No gate training. The coaching staff will be comprised of age appropriate NYSSRA coaches and invited guest coaches.

Cost: $224.00. This includes lift tickets, coaching, and a T-shirt.  There is no housing for this project.  Parents will need to care for their children when not in skiing groups (athletes are responsible for their lunch).

Location: Gore Mt. (East) and Holiday Valley (West) will host the East and West NYSSRA U12  

Fundamentals Camps. Athletes in councils must attend Fundamental project location listed.

Athletes in Niagara, Genesee and Central Councils – Holiday Valley

Athletes in Mountain, Adirondack and Rip Van Winkle – Gore Mountain

Athletes need one pair of skis, helmet, and poles

Registration:To officially register for the camp, you must be a current member of NYSSRA and USSS.  Please go to adminskiracing.com and look under NYSSRA events. You must register and pay. You’ll need to login to your adminskiracing.com account and should see U12 Fundamentals Camp. Registration is on a first come first serve basis until full. More athletes may be added once we have max number (20) filled and can be staffed appropriately.

Required Paperwork:

1. NYSSRA Health Info Questionnaire: Please fill out the attached health form and bring it to check-in                                            

Arrival/Departure: Please plan to arrive at the Gore Mt Main Lodge (for East Camp) and the Holiday Valley Comp Center (for the West Camp) on Dec. 10th and 11th, no later than 7:30am. The NYSSRA staff will meet you the designated area at each lodge. Parents can pick up their children at 3:00pm at the completion of each day in the Gore Base Lodge (downstairs) and the Holiday Valley Competition Center next to Yodeler Lodge.

Athletes attending the NYSSRA Fundamentals Camp will be expected to conduct themselves in a responsible and mature manner. NYSSRA staff will go over the Code of Conduct on Saturday morning at the athlete meeting. Infractions to the code of conduct will be dealt with individually. In severe situations, athletes will be sent home.

Plan to work hard  during this weekend! Be prepared by hydrating and fueling appropriately prior to arrival and bring your positive attitude! We look forward to working you!

 8:15am – Athlete meeting

 8:30-11:30pm – One Snow with coaches

 11:30-12:30pm –  Lunch with group or with parents

 12:30-2:30pm – On Snow with coaches

 2:30-3:00pm – Daily wrap up 

 3:00pm – Parent pick up

SUNDAY 12/8
