DIRECTIONS For COACHES - please READ;

The Sport Education Team is excited to announce our new Sport Education Academy (SEA), which is our new learning management platform. The Sport Education Team has been working hard to populate this new platform with revised certification courses, continuing education opportunities, a video library, and additional resources and will be releasing new content throughout the year. One of the biggest changes you may notice this season is that all coach members will show “INACTIVE” in the database regardless of certification level and membership status until some action items are completed. 

Anyone looking to register for certification must have a current U.S. Ski & Snowboard coach membership for 2024-25 season and complete basic coach membership requirements (SafeSport & Background Screening) before registering for the SEA.

All coach members looking to get certified at any level are required to enroll in the Sport Education Academy at the GOLD subscription tier. There are no exceptions.

2. Log on to the Sport Education Academy with your current membership username or password
3. Use the voucher code below to subscribe to the Sport Education Academy at the GOLD subscription. This voucher code will give you free access to the SEA since you already paid NYSSRA for the discounted rate.

Once you are enrolled in the Sport Education Academy your first step is to complete the Safety Requirements.

1. Avalanche Awareness (which is a short course with updated content from the introduction to avalanche course you may have taken previously)
2. First Aid & CPR – confirm annually (you do not need to retake these courses if you have current certifications, you just need to confirm you have current certifications by entering in date of completion, organization, expiration date, and acknowledge that what you entered is true. Should take 5 mins or less.

3. Concussion – confirm annually - same process as first aid and cpr.

For previously certified coaches (level 100 or higher) this will get your certification to show “ACTIVE” in the database.

ONLY FOR NON-CERTIFIED COACHES: 

Coaching Fundamentals modules are required for all non-certified coaches before enrolling in a level 100 certification pathway (We have shortened this course to three modules instead of five, so the time commitment is much shorter than it used to be.)

Once these are complete your certification will show “IN PROGRESS” and you can move forward with pursuing level 100 certification. The on-snow assessment calendar will be announced at the end of October.
