JIMINY PEAK, THE MOUNTAIN RESORT
U-19 QUALIFIER SLALOM AND GIANT SLALOM
3 & 4 FEBRUARY, 2018
Welcome to Jiminy Peak and the Tri-State U19 Qualifier weekend. The schedule of race events is as follows for both days:
Race Registration opens at 07:30 in the left side (as you enter the area) of the Crane Lodge. This is the building where the ticket windows are located. You will receive a lift ticket (pass) with your bib. Coaches should sign in and receive a lift pass as well.
The Coaches’ Meeting will occur both days at 8:20 outside on the Crane Lodge patio.
Lifts open for competitors at 08:30 both days.
Course inspection will begin at 08:30 and conclude at 09:25.
Forerunners will start both days at 09:30
We estimate the start of the women’s second run to be between 12:30 and 13:00 and will notify competitors at the end of the second run.
Saturday’s slalom will start and the top of Lower Exhibition and conclude at the bottom of Exhibition East. Sunday’s giant slalom will start at the top of Whirlaway and conclude at the bottom of Exhibition East. You will see the race course from the lift both mornings.
First runs will have a random sort of the fifteen competitors with the lowest USSA points for the event. Second runs will “flip 30” meaning that the racer who finished the first run in 30th place will start first in the second run. After the first 30 run, the other competitors will start their second run in the order of their first run finish. If you do not finish a first run, you may keep your bib and run at the end of the second run, in bib order and after all competitors with a valid first run time. You will be responsible to be at the start when your turn comes.
Both competitions are using USSA Points List # 9, which is valid from January 18 through February 8th. If you raced in an event between January 14th and today, and check your points on the USSA website your points may appear to be lower than what you have in Points List #9. USSA will drop your points when they issue the next Points List on February 8th.
Bib return will occur in the Crane Lodge with the volunteers who distributed bibs in the morning. If you leave before completing a second run, please leave your bib with the volunteers in the Crane Lodge. If you are not able to find a volunteer, please leave your bib with the scoreboard volunteers.
The scoreboard at the bottom of Lower Exhibition will record unofficial times and post disqualifications at the end of the first and second runs.
Racers and coaches making protests must do so in writing and by submitting a $50 protest fee.
